Damien rice

  • On Wednesday nights episode of American Idol, it was clear that while the judges may have failed in the judging department this season, they certainly exceeded expectations when it came to selecting contestants.
  • (The Christian Science Monitor)
  • Mr. Phillips, 21, of Leesburg, Ga., also won plaudits from the judges for his versions of Creedence Clearwater Revival's "Have You Ever Seen the Rain" and "Volcano" by Damien Rice.
  • (New York Times Blogs)
  • Recommendation: The 6-foot, 220-pound Pierce joins a backfield mix that includes Anthony Allen and Damien Berry behind undisputed starter Ray Rice.
  • (YAHOO!)
  • If only, P^2 had said earlier on that he was going to put out a Damien Rice album when all was said and done. That, I could wholeheartedly get behind. Gorgeous.
  • (Chaska Herald)
  • He had high praise for the others.
  • (MTV)
  • Hmm. For his songwriter choice, Phillip chose a stripped-down, low-tempo Damien Rice number, which utilized his range (such as it is) to great effect.
  • (Huffington Post)
  • Phillip was at his best with his take on Damien Rice's "Volcano, and for the first time in awhile, he was truly deserving of the judges accolades. "I never heard you sing like that before. That was just beautiful," Steven said.
  • (Parade)
  • Phillip Phillips lacks personality, and his songs all sound the same. (But I loved the Damien Rice song!) • Joshua Ledet totally blew it up! • Jessica Sanchez is becoming the next diva. So, that leaves me with my predictions.

  • Between his slow, mournful version of Damien Rices Volcano and his duet with Joshua Ledet on Maroon 5s This Love, Phillips made it hard not to fall deep into those baby blue eyes of his.

  • the raves came for performances of Creedence Clearwater Revivals Have You Ever Seen the Rain? and Volcano by Damien Rice. I love you because youre your own guy, said Jackson, adding: Amazing.
