Hatfield

  • History auds stayed glued to the feud Wednesday, as the finale of miniseries Hatfields McCoys drew a whopping 14.3 million viewers. The huge tune-in breaks Mondays premiere telecast as the most-watched entertainment telecast in basic cable history.

  • The impetus for the Hatfield-McCoy feud is itself a point of dispute. Some say the feud started shortly after the Civil War, when Hatfield kin Jim Vance shot Harmon McCoy while he was hiding out. Others contend that a McCoy pig was stolen.
