David wright

  • Maybe its a negotiating ploy. A year after Fred Wilpon said David Wright was not a superstar, the Mets principal owner hedged some when asked Wednesday about his third baseman, who currently leads the majors with a .408 batting average.

  • David Wright was more than willing to take the chance of becoming a fat target at the plate in the seventh inning of Tuesday nights 8-0 loss to the Milwaukee Brewers. Terry Collins, however, was not willing to put his best player in that position.

  • David Wright's gesture was appreciated, even if the practicality of the situation begged for restraint.
  • (New York Post)
  • Thats not just talk. I really enjoy it. Still, Wright felt the need to reach out to his manager after the game via text message. Collins said it was unnecessary, but appreciated. Its just David, Collins said.
