Whitney mercilus

  • I have heard nothing but good things about Whitney Mercilus. Though he was nonexistent in his first two years, he was a terror last season. Hard workers, who are tough, can often be late bloomers.
  • (Houston Chronicle)
  • NEW YORK -- Looking to fill some suddenly glaring holes on defense, the Houston Texans selected Illinois defensive end Whitney Mercilus with the 26th overall pick in the NFL draft Thursday night.
  • (Abc Local Web)
  • And Illinois Whitney Mercilus was a popular choice. Dan Pompei: "If the Bears are focused on a defensive end, they're fortunate. Because it's a strong group of defensive ends in the first round.

  • Were doing a little bit of alternating with these profiles. The last one was a lineman, this one is on a guy who is likely to be a stand-up, pass rushing outside linebacker in the NFL. Meet Whitney Mercilus.

  • Tony Medina/Icon SMILovie Smith and Rod Marinelli were in attendance to watch Whitney Mercilus.
  • (ESPN)
  • LAKE FOREST, Ill.
  • (ESPN)
  • Green Bay --Maybe no defensive player has drawn more polarizing analysis than Illinois defensive end Whitney Mercilus. In college, he had one dynamite season. Mercilus, who he wrote about last month, led the nation in sacks (16) and forced fumbles (nine).
  • (Milwaukee Journal Sentinel)
  • Thats why the Bears general manager Phil Emery made him his first draft pick ahead of Whitney Mercilus, Nick Perry, Chandler Jones, Courtney Upshaw or any other defensive end who was on the NFL draft board at No. 19.
  • (Chicago Tribune)
  • He's fine with that, as ProFootballTalk.com reports after Jones appeared on WNST radio in Baltimore. And Whitney Mercilus, the Illinois defensive end who is projected by most to go around the Bears' spot, also was told he was a third-rounder by the board.
