- DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. — Are you ready for some racing — some Monday night racing? NASCAR pushed the start of its season-opening Daytona 500 to Monday night, under the lights and in primetime for the first time in its history.
(Indianapolis Star)- DAYTONA BEACH —With 40 laps left, the remainder of the Daytona 500 is in jeopardy after Juan Pablo Montoya apparently ran into a track drying vehicle. The vehicle was out on the track during a caution blowing off debris.

(Huffington Post)- A race car hit a truck filled with jet fuel, which then burst into flames during a caution at the Daytona 500 late Monday night. So far, no injuries have been reported.
(WSB-TV Atlanta)- If the Daytona 500 is run today it will be as a night race. NASCAR president Mike Helton announced this morning that the race will start at 7 p.m. ET, if weather allows.
